Canada's Caregiver Pilot Program

On June 18, 2019 the government of Canada introduced a Pilot Program aimed at caregivers.

Under the pilot project you may be able to apply for Permanent Residence if

You can receive an open work permit which will allow you to come to Canada temporarily.

The work permit is restricted on the occupation

You DO NOT require an LMIA to be eligible under this process

The application for permanent residence and work permit is made at the same time so necessarily it is a Permanent Residence application.

Once the applicant has 2 years’ experience in one of the two eligible occupations, the application for permanent residence is complete

To be eligible for permanent residence under the pilot program the applicant must complete 24 months of qualifying experience before applying.
